The Polish History of Amaranth

of amaranth in Poland
in the year 1993.
Peo­ple’s at­ten­tion was fo­cused on ama­ranth as it could be an al­ter­na­tive plant to sub­sti­tute those ones which have been cul­ti­vat­ed up to now The seeds and leaves of amaranth are known for their nu­tri­tious prop­er­ties and that is why they can en­rich or sup­ple­ment our diet domi­nat­ed by tra­di­tion­al crop­s.
The first pro­duc­tion plan­ta­tions of ama­ranth were found­ed in Poland in 1993 Amaranth was the firm which was ap­point­ed to launch the pro­duc­tion of ama­ranth and or­ga­nize its mar­ket.
­For the past few years in close co­op­er­a­tion with SGGW (U­ni­ver­si­ty of Agri­cul­ture) in War­saw and many oth­er sci­en­tif­ic and re­search in­sti­tu­tions in Poland Amaranth launched the pro­duc­tion tech­nol­o­gy of ama­ranth which re­sult­ed in ob­tain­ing the raw ma­te­ri­al of a very high qual­i­ty.
The sig­nif­i­cant achieve­ment of this co­op­er­a­tion was also the in­tro­duc­tion of the stan­dard recipes for the use of ama­ranth seeds and flour in food in­dus­try.
